“…For instance, a study reported Bacillus amyloliquefaciens that was isolated from the seaweed Hypnea valentiae and this bacterial isolate synthesized novel amylomacins antibiotics against S. aureus [15]. Moreover, another study highlighted the polyketide difficidin synthesized by B. amyloliquefaciens that was isolated from Kappaphycus alverezii and the compound was active against multidrug resistant S. aureus, K. pneumoniae, Enterococcus faecalis and pseudomonas aeruginosa [16].…”

“…AntiSMASH v. 6.1.1 was used to identify secondary metabolites biosynthesis gene clusters, setting the detection strictness as relaxed ( 8 ). Interestingly, we predicted genes encoding secondary metabolites with known antibiotic activity, such as bacilysin ( 9 ), difficidin ( 10 ), bacillaene ( 11 ), macrolactin H ( 12 ), surfactin ( 13 ), and fengycin ( 14 ) ( Table 1 ). This indicates that BIB0110 harbors important genes to promote the biocontrol of pathogens with more sustainable approaches.…”

“…Among these polyketide-spanned macrolides, compound 13 had the lowest MIC value (1.56 μg/mL), and its in silico docking study with SaPDF demonstrated a binding energy of 12.61 kcal/mol as well as an inhibition constant (K i ) of 573.34 pM, implying that it is a promising antibiotic lead compound. Twenty-one membered macrocyclic lactones difficidin analogues 19 ~ 22 , also isolated from the marine bacterium B. amyloliquefaciens MTCC12713, disclosed their significant bactericidal activities with clearance zone of 17 mm, 26 mm, 23 mm and 25 mm, respectively [ 39 ]. Among them, compound 20 bearing 9-methyl-19-propyl dicarboxylate demonstrated MIC value of 4 nM against P. aeruginosa and drug-likeness score of 0.35.…”
