Differentiation of the drying time of adhesives on plywoods through the dynamic speckle technique

Abstract: The drying time of adhesives such as Fevicol SH, Fevicol MR, Dendrite white and Bulbond after coating separately on the three plywoods, namely Archidply, Centuryply and Greenply, has been studied non-destructively using the dynamic speckle technique. The time history of the speckle pattern, the co-occurrence matrix, 3D graphs and line profiles of images from the time history of the speckle pattern along with 3D trajectory plots have been used for qualitative analysis whereas the inertia moment, absolute value … Show more

“…The laser speckle technique [8] is a nondestructive and noncontact technique and has been used in many biological, as well as nonbiological fields such as the monitoring of the quality of fruits [8], the viability of seeds [9], blood flow detection in body parts [10], the phase change of ice cream from solid to liquid phase [11], the drying of adhesive [12] etc.…”

“…It is very important to detect and monitor this type of fruit disease non-destructively. The laser biospeckle technique is a non-contact, non-destructive, non-invasive and non-harmful technique and has a wide application in agricultural (Braga et al 2005(Braga et al , 2009Zdunek and Herppich 2012;Ansari and Nirala 2015;Chatterjee et al 2017a, b), industrial (Kumari and Nirala 2018;Chatterjee et al 2017a, b) and medical fields (Briers and Webster 1996).…”
