Abstract: OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study was to develop natural language processing (NLP)–based machine learning algorithms to automatically differentiate lumbar disc herniation (LDH) and lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS) based on positive symptoms in free-text admission notes.
