Abstract:Background. The overlapping clinical presentations of patients with acute respiratory disease can complicate disease diagnosis. Whilst PCR diagnostic methods to identify SARS-CoV-2 are highly sensitive, they have their shortcomings including false-positive risk and slow turnaround times.
