“…The Ki-67 proliferation index represents the proliferative activity of tumor cells. The Ki-67 proliferation index increases with an increased degree of malignancy; thus, it can be used to evaluate the stage and grade of tumors (16,27). WHO grade 3 and 4 astrocytomas have more malignant histological features than grade 2 tumors.…”

“…Enhancement combined ADC was able to better assist with tumor grading. The ADC min reacted to the most active part of tumors, the most similar pathological features of different grade tumors, which has been used to evaluate the Ki-67 proliferation index (3,23,27). Overall, the findings of our study indicated that of all the ADC parameters, ADC min is most accurate in predicting the grade of adult IDH-mutant astrocytomas.…”

“…In a meta-analysis of the correlation between ADC values and benign and high-grade meningiomas, the authors suggested that ADC values may reflect the level of meningioma aquaporin 4 and correlate with progesterone receptor status in meningiomas (15). Several previous studies have found that high-grade meningiomas have lower ADC values than low-grade meningiomas (21,22). ADC histogram analysis has been shown to be a potentially useful tool in the study of the differential diagnosis, grading, and prognosis of brain tumors by extracting features from the entire tumor and automatically generating multiple histogram parameters to achieve a comprehensive and quantitative assessment of tumor heterogeneity and other features (22)(23)(24)(25).…”
