Differential Expression Profiles and Functional Prediction of tRNA-Derived Small RNAs in Rats After Traumatic Spinal Cord Injury

Abstract: Qin et al. tsRNA Expression and Functional Prediction and predicted tiRNA-Gly-GCC-001 might be involved in the MAPK and neurotrophin pathways by targeting the BDNF, thus regulating the post-SCI pathophysiologic processes. This study provides novel insights for future investigations to explore the mechanisms and therapeutic targets for SCI.

“…In functional analysis of the tsRNAs, there is mounting evidence that tRFs have been related to acting as functional regulatory factors in immunity, physiological processes, and cellular metabolism ( 31 , 32 ). Furthermore, some tsRNAs are dysregulated in various cancers, and that their expression is variable during cancer developing and staging ( 21 , 33 , 34 ).…”

“…27 Qin et al verified the tsRNA-seq results using qRT-PCR to detect differentially expressed tsRNA in rats with spinal cord injury. 99 In addition, Northern blotting can be used to determine tRF and tiRNA expression levels. Su et al used Northern blotting to verify the high abundance of tiRNA in placenta/decidua, confirming the authenticity of small RNA-seq experimental results.…”
