Schizophrenia is a psychiatric disorder characterized by disturbances in thinking processes, perceptions, emotional responses, and social interactions. The therapy commonly used in the treatment of schizophrenia is antipsychotic or psychotropic drugs. The use of psychotropic drugs is the first step in overcoming and following up on mental disorders. The object of this research is several hospitals that treat patients with psychiatric disorders, namely schizophrenia. Where the subjects used in this study were men/women with schizophrenia aged 18 to 60 years in the city of Indramayu who are undergoing treatment at the hospital for the 2020-2022 period. This study aims to describe the use of antipsychotic classes that are used as one of the pharmacological therapies in patients. This research method uses a descriptive quantitative method, while the sample fee used in this study is the slovin calculation formula, with a total population of 875 and a sample of 274 is obtained. The results obtained are based on the proportion of sex, mostly male patients (62.4%), the highest proportion of the age range was found in early adulthood (70.8%), the highest diagnosis was YTT schizophrenia (46%). Then patients with a history of not going to school (63.5%) and a history of not working (88.3%). Most of the data obtained were patients who experienced mild recurrence of 62%. As for the large number of patient histories with mild or insignificant recurrence, this can influence the factors supporting the success of treatment, namely the use of insurance. This opinion was obtained from patient payment status data, in which the most widely used payment status was the use of insurance by 82.1%. In data on the use of the single antipsychotic that is most widely used in each type of schizophrenia is the antipsychotic haloperidol and the combination that is most widely used is haloperidol-chlorpromazine

Introduction: Clozapine is an antipsychotic agent used in schizophrenia recurrence or when other antipsychotics are not effective. Aims: This study aims to determine the therapeutic outcome and adverse drug reactions of clozapine in schizophrenia disorder among hospitalised patients. Methods: A retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted between January 2018 and December 2019 using inpatients’ medical records from the Grhasia Psychiatric Hospital, Yogyakarta. The therapeutic outcome was measured with the PANSS-EC scale, while adverse drug reactions of clozapine were analysed theoretically as per the literature. Results: The average decrease in the PANSS-EC score was 8.27, and the average duration to achieve this decrease was 2.5 days. The combination of typical-atypical antipsychotics could reduce the highest PANSS-EC score of 11-15 (41%). The adverse drug reactions of clozapine were tremor, weight gain, obesity, leucopenia, hyperglycemia, and hypercholesterolemia, among other effects. Conclusion: Clozapine is effective in improving positive and negative symptoms, but its use needs close monitoring.

Risperidone is an atypical antipsychotic indicated for acute and chronic schizophrenia and mania. A study found that the use of risperidone as a therapy for acute schizophrenia was 25.32%. Side effects of risperidone include insomnia, anxiety, headache, and extrapyramidal symptoms. With the high use of risperidone and the many possible side effects, it is necessary to study the drug. This study aims to describe the use and side effects of risperidone at the Ghrasia Mental Hospital Yogyakarta. This research is non-experimental research using a descriptive design. Data were collected retrospectively from medical records of a patient who received risperidone prescriptions at the Grhasia Mental Hospital Yogyakarta January-December 2019. Sampling used the purposive sampling technique, and 360 samples were obtained. The incidence of side effects was analyzed using the Naranjo algorithm. The use of risperidone at the Ghrasia Mental Hospital Yogyakarta showed that patients improved 25.83%, patients improved but had to control 71.17%. The incidence of side effects was 15% of the total 360 patients taking risperidone. The most common side effects were tremor (4.72%), insomnia 2.50%, nausea 1.67%, and vomiting 1.39%. Side effects were treated with 65% additional therapy, 22% no additional therapy, and 13% drug discontinuation. Conclusion: The use of risperidone at Ghrasia Hospital Yogyakarta shows good effectiveness with a 15% incidence of side effects that are handled properly
