Different Refrigerants and their Impact on Vapour-Compression Refrigeration Systems

Heat has always been a problem in countries like India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. As these countries are located near the equator region, the sun's light falls directly on them, thereby keeping their temperature high. And India, being a country having a tropical climate, experiences immense heat with little difference in temperatures between summer and winter due to its proximity to the equator. It is hot and humid all year round, with an average temperature of 27°C. A proper air conditioner would be a good appliance to have during these times. When doing work or event, the place could become massy and uncomfortable for technicians or engineers. This work finds itself worthy in recognizing the functionalities of the purchasing department. ABC analysis was employed in reducing the cost of the portable vertical AC. This paper includes a short description of procurement, supply chain management, just-in-time, bills of materials and vendor rating. In manufacturing the air-conditioning system by doing these, we can find the best possible supplier of individual components at minimum cost so that we can reduce the final cost of the assembling.

The AC is installed with roll bond evaporator, newly designed, tube and fin condenser and rotary compressor. All these three are attached using copper tubes and the refrigerant is supplied which is rotated through this setup. The refrigerant which comes out of the compressor goes into the condenser which is initially at high temperature and then while coming out of the condenser the temperature of the refrigerant is reduced and now it enters the roll bond evaporator through capillary tube in which the low temperature refrigerant is evaporated and then the refrigerant again goes to compressor. The refrigerant used in this project is R-22, tube and fin condenser and 1 ton rotary compressor. Roll bond evaporator, copper tubes, expansion valve are used for assembling of mobile air conditioner and design of AC In the present work, we have attached 6 roll bond evaporators to cool the ups room and connected to throttle valve, compressor condenser with the help of copper tubes. When the AC is switched on the compressor get started and refrigerant enters into compressor condenser. It then enters into the roll bond evaporator and it helps to reduce the room temperature. There are many cell tower rooms in many companies and colleges ups rooms. For best efficiency, life and reliability the temperature needs to be uniformly constant at 23°Celsius. This project also provides a 3D uniform temperature as required by the set point.

Display Water Cooler

Industries, colleges, restaurants, etc., includes canteens which use refrigerators, water coolers and air conditioners to generate heat during the process of refrigeration. This heat energy is usually wasted. But in this project, we have utilized this heat, to heat the water without an external source of power. The purpose of the project is that, the heated water can be utilized to wash hands and clean utensils in the canteens. Heating the water involves many types of sources like electric heaters, fire, etc. In this project, we use a water-cooled condenser as a heating source to heat the water. During the compression phase of the refrigerant, the refrigerant delivers large amount of heat. This heat is utilized and made as an external water-cooled condenser with a refrigerant coil in the refrigerator along with an air-cooled condenser as a sub-cooler. During this process of refrigeration, only the compressed refrigerant transfers the heat to the water, saves power and thereby produces hot water that finds it to have a good temperature sufficient enough to kill bacteria present in hand and also to wash the utensils in the canteens.
