Abstract

Potential lectin ability to bind specific and reversible glycans expects wider applications in biology. The foreground elements like antiparasitic, antimicrobial, immune modulator, inhibitory HIV-1 reverse transcriptase, insecticidal, antitumor and heamagglutination activity could serve as budding biotechnological importance in drug delivery, targeting and therapeutic approach. Amphibian lectin and its implicit tumor marker is the focal point of the review.
