Different Applications of Magnetic Nanoparticles in the Rapid Monitoring of Ochratoxin A

Abstract: Toxic effects of mycotoxins are still an unresolved subject for health of humans and animals. Therefore, several methods has been created to determine and eliminate mycotoxins from foodstuffs, and also are developing. For instance, utilization of magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) when are combined with different analytical tools is one of the developing methods which could be useful for extraction of mycotoxins. As in some methods, they were employed as newfound adsorbents in magnetic solid phase extraction approa… Show more

“…Notably, no corresponding reduction peak is observed in the reverse sweep of the cyclic voltammogram, which indicates that the electrode reaction of OTA is an irreversible process, as detailed in Scheme . This electrochemical behavior is in agreement with the results of a previous study investigating OTA oxidation .…”

“…As described in our previous work, the surface of Fe 3 O 4 was modified using the dopamine moiety of "DPN. " Dopamine, which acts as an anchoring agent, could replace the oleylamine on the surface of Fe 3 O 4 NPs [27] . The final size of Fe 3 O 4 -DPN was 13 (±0.4) nm [28] .…”

“…There are many publications on IFA developed using MNPs (Godjevargova et al 2019;Ivanov et al 2019;Qin et al 2019). Usually the MNPs are used for extraction of OTA, and its detection is performed with different analytical tools (Sargazi and Majd 2017). In some other variants, MNPs are used for immobilization of antibodies to enhance the efficiency of the analytical tools such as square wave voltammetry, ELISA, and amperometric biosensor (Kim and Lim 2015;Zhang et al 2018).…”
