Jeneponto Regency is one of the largest horse sales centers in South Sulawesi. Horse has considerable potential as a source of meat for food. Horse meat can be obtained from traders in traditional markets at a price of around IDR 150.000/kg. The preference of horse meat consumers is a person's choice of likes or dislikes towards the choice of horse meat products consumed. Consumers pay attention on various kinds of attributes attached to horse meat that are used as considerations in making purchasing decision. This study aimed to analyze consumer preferences for horse meat and the effect of consumer preferences for horse meat at Traditional Markets in Jeneponto Regency on consumer decisions. This research was carried out at traditional markets in Jeneponto Regency, namely Tolo Market and Karisa Market in December 2021. The method used in this research is a quantitative approach. The focus of this study was to reveal household consumer preferences based on horse meat attributes with a sample of 168 household consumer respondents, consisting of 100 respondents analyzed by using Cochran Q-Test analysis and 68 respondents analyzed by using regression analysis. The results indicated that there were five attributes that were most preferred by consumers, namely X1 (red liver, high fat content, lower part, cheap), X2 (brownish red, low fat content, upper part, standard), X3 (brownish red, high fat content, upper part, cheap), X4 (brownish red, no fat, lower part, standard), and X5 (liver red, no fat, lower part, standard) and the influence of consumer preferences in this case the 5 attributes that have been combined on the purchasing decisions had a significant and positive effect of 73.8%, the value of Sig. F is 0.000 so that it is less than alpha 0.05, and the t-count value of X1 (8.446), X2 (4.865), X3 (5.468), X4 (7.774), X5 (8.741) is greater than the t table value of 1.667. Cattle business insurance or AUTS is one of the government programs through the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia, with the aim of protecting cattle farmers so that they can continue to breed cattle if field conditions do not support it, such as an accident, death due to illness, being stolen by irresponsible people. The AUTS program is a form of the government's seriousness and concern for cattle farmers so that carrying out cattle farming can be sustainable. The purpose of this study was to get an overview of the strategy for implementing the successful implementation of cattle business insurance or AUTS based on social capital. The research was conducted in Barru Regency with respondents who came from cattle breeders who took part in AUTS. The research method used in this study is to collect data using questionnaires and conduct surveys and focused group discussions. The data that has been collected is processed using SWOT data analysis. The research output is to get an overview of the AUTS implementation strategy. The results of the research based on SWOT and QSPM analysis indicate that it needs to be continued and maintained because the successful implementation strategy of AUTS implementation is in the growth and aggressive quadrant with IFES and EFAS coordinates, namely X: Y = (X = 0.90: Y = 1.08). The QSPM strategy is 2.62 regulatory support, 1.09 government premium assistance, and 1.90 livestock service support.

Farmer characteristics are indicators that measure the ability of farmers to make decisions related to their farming activities. This study aims to determine the relationship between farmer characteristics and their decision to cultivate local varieties of lowland rice in Kuantan Singingi Regency. This research is survey research, the determination of samples from four sub-districts was selected purposively, each consisting of 15 farmers in each sub-district, the number of samples was 60 farmers. This study is a quantitative study using indicators and a measurement scale using the Likert Summated Branch (SLR) scale, with three categories of answers to the questions posed. The score expressed in integers (1,2,3) was then analyzed using a non-parametric analysis of Spearman's Rank Correlation using the SPSS-20 program. This finding shows that the number of family dependents has a significant relationship with farmers' decisions in farming local varieties of lowland rice and is negatively related, while the characteristics based on land area, farmer's age, education, and farming experience show a positive relationship but have no significant effect. Farmers who have some dependent families prefer to switch to planting high-yielding varieties to produce higher rice production and to meet the needs of family life. Based on the findings of this study, further research is needed on the potential development of local varieties of lowland rice as local superior varieties, taking into account aspects of land suitability, technology, and local wisdom.
