“…Changes in activities of daily living and health behaviors due to COVID-19 restrictions may explain the observed 38.0% decrease in sports-related tSCI between 2019 and 2020 despite the stable overall pediatric tSCI incidence during the same period (13). This is consistent with the reported 15% decrease in the total number of ED visits in the United States from 2019 to 2020.…”

“…One study found that while motor vehicle crashes were the most common documented external cause of injury code, sportsrelated pediatric tSCI were more common among older children (9). Given the impact of sports on tSCI, it may also be important to understand the relationship between tSCI incidence and the reported reduction in physical activity globally during the COVID-19 pandemic (12,13). Addressing these knowledge gaps is key in injury prevention, as sport-related SCIs are a potential target area for public health education and interventions to improve knowledge and awareness of sports safety.…”

“…The interaction between sports students and lecturers happens directly in the classroom (Kapasia et al, 2020;Mukhtar et al, 2020). On the other side, blended learning utilizes digital technologies such as computers, the internet, and mobile devices to facilitate the learning process (Johnson et al, 2023). Sports students can access learning materials online, participate in online discussions, and use various digital resources to support their understanding.…”

“…The potential social skills of the child would be negatively impacted as a result. Based on the research conducted, it was discovered that students who participated in both online and inperson aspects of a sports course demonstrated significantly elevated levels of moderate to intense physical activity in comparison to individuals who pursued a mixed format [25,26]. These data suggest that the facetoface component of the course offers more benefits in terms of learning outcomes in comparison to the online component.…”

“…Prior research has mostly concentrated on the examination of student perceptions regarding the use of a blended instructional strategy [29]. Additionally, investigations have been conducted to assess the effectiveness of this approach [30,31], as well as to explore student engagement levels [26] and motivation [27,28]. Given the urgency of this matter, it is imperative that this investigation be expeditiously undertaken.…”
