Abstract: Although previous studies have demonstrated the beneficial effects of some components of whole grains on premenstrual syndrome (PMS), our literature review shows that no clinical trial has studied the effect of whole grain consumption on PMS so far. “…Dietary modifications are recommended for the treatment of PMS, but the number of studies is limited, except the effects of micronutrient supplements studies on symptoms. Recently, Esmaeilpour et al [27] determined that daily intake of whole grains had positive effect on mood, physical and behavioral symptoms of PMS.
