Dietary yucca extract and Clostridium butyricum promote growth performance of weaned rabbits by improving nutrient digestibility, intestinal development, and microbial composition

Abstract: Yucca has abundant amounts of polyphenolics, steroidal saponins, and resveratrol and its extract can be used as a feed additive in the animal husbandry, which might contribute to the improvement in the growth and productivity in rabbit production. Hence, the current study aimed to examine the effects of yucca extract alone and in combination with Clostridium butyricum (C. butyricum) on growth performance, nutrient digestibility, muscle quality, and intestinal development of weaned rabbits. A total of 400 40-da… Show more

“…There have been few studies on alleviating T-2 toxin enterotoxicity. Future studies on alleviating T-2 toxin enterotoxicity can investigate the use of probiotics or antioxidant materials for detoxification. , In addition, multiple omics and bioinformatics techniques need to be combined to identify the core toxicity molecular targets of T-2 toxin enterotoxicity, after which the targeted screening of drugs based on the molecular structure of the targets should be performed. Decreasing the quantity of T-2 toxin that intestinal epithelial cells can absorb and accelerating the excretion of T-2 toxin in faeces may become an effective method (Figure ).…”
