“…There is a paucity of studies assessing prevalence and risk factors for IDA in pregnancy in Nigeria; and none exploring dietary risk factors [26]. The only Nigerian study, found in the literature, on dietary intake and IDA, considered IDA to be same as anaemia in pregnancy and defined IDA as haemoglobin concentration < 11 g/dl [29]. Understanding the factors associated with IDA may help improve counselling of pregnant women, especially with respect to diet which is a modifiable factor.…”
