Dielectric studies of binary mixtures of ethylene glycol mono phenyl ether with 1-butanol at different temperatures

Abstract: Static permittivity ("), refractive index (n) and density () of binary mixtures of ethylene glycol mono phenyl ether (EGMPE) with 1-butanol (1-BuOH) over the entire range of mole fraction and at temperatures (T ¼ 303:15, 313.15 and 323.15 K) have been measured. From the experimental data, parameters such as excess static permittivity (" E ), excess permittivity at optical frequency (" E 1 ), effective Kirkwood correlation factor (g eff ), corrective Kirkwood correlation factor (g f ) and Bruggeman factor (f b … Show more

“…The nature of the interaction between the -CH, -OH, -C=O, and -NH groups is crucial in biological systems and drug creation. To reduce the dipoledipole interaction, dipole moments are estimated for polar liquids diluted in the nonpolar solvent benzene [7][8][9]. Amides have been studied spectroscopically, physically, and theoretically to see how they can contain intermolecular hydrogen.…”

“…11,12 Recently, many works on dielectric and other properties of liquids have been reported. [13][14][15][16][17][18][19] The study of dielectric properties of EGME in particularly the determination of the static and the high-frequency dielectric constant can provide a good deal of information about their molecular structure and the intermolecular interaction. The broadband TDR is a powerful technique to measure the complex dielectric permittivity of EGME as well as binary mixtures over a wider frequency range.…”

“…Ray et al have evaluated the excess Gibb's energy of mixing in the polarnonpolar binary mixture using dielectric probe and proposed an equation to find out excess Gibb's energy [7]. Dielectric permittivity reports of binary mixtures of ethylene glycol mono phenyl ether with alcohols at varied temperatures have been investigated by Rana and Chaube [8]. Dielectric properties of binary mixtures of phenyl ether of ethylene glycol with methanol have also been examined.…”
