Dielectric properties of nanophase Ag2HgI4 and Ag2HgI4-Al2O3 nanocomposites

Abstract: The dielectric properties of nanophase Ag 2 HgI 4 and Ag 2 HgI 4-Al 2 O 3 nanocomposites at different frequencies have been studied over a temperature range covering the stability range of β β phase of Ag 2 HgI 4 and beyond the β β to α α phase transition temperature. ε ε′ ′, tan δ δ and σ σ a.c. of nanophase Ag 2 HgI 4 and Ag 2 HgI 4-Al 2 O 3 nanocomposites were found to be larger than the reported values for polycrystalline pellets of Ag 2 HgI 4. The dielectric properties of the nanocomposites were found to … Show more

“…Magnesium alloys have many advantages, such as low density, high strength/weight ratio, good machinability, high thermal conductivity, and excellent recyclability, and are widely used in a number of industrial fields including automobile, aerospace, electronic industries, and implant materials [1][2][3][4][5][6]. However, the poor corrosion resistance limits their wide applications [7][8][9].…”

“…The method of phosphating acceleration of carbon steel by its anodic polarisation due to formation of galvanic couple with more noble metal is known in literature. [26][27][28] In our case, the potential difference between anode (wear track) and cathode (mainly not damaged surface) parts of the aluminium alloy sample under tribocorrosion loading is rather large and reaches 300 mV. It should be considered also that the area of cathodic part of the sample exceeds the anode area by at least an order of magnitude.…”

“…A similar effect of acceleration of phosphating of metal surface by its mechanical treatment or activation has been described by Narayanan. 26 However, it should also be noted that the phosphating of the wear surface takes place under the electrochemical acceleration. The method of phosphating acceleration of carbon steel by its anodic polarisation due to formation of galvanic couple with more noble metal is known in literature.…”
