“…Incorporation of alumina (Al2O3), barium titanate (BaTiO3), titania (TiO2) and zirconia (ZrO2) into PI matrix were attempted.. [33,34] Several methods were employed in preparing these nanocomposites. It has been established that method of preparation affect the dielectric properties of these materials.…”

“…However, the dielectric constant of such polymer based composites is rather low (about 50) because of the lower dielectric constant of the matrix (usually below 10) [1][2][3][4][5] . For instance, in BaTiO 3 /epoxy composites, though BaTiO 3 has relatively high dielectric constant (>1000), the effective dielectric constant (ε eff ) of the composite was as low as 50, even when the highest possible volume fraction of ceramics was incorporated 2 . As the volume fraction of ceramics increased, the composite, unfortunately, lost its flexibility.…”

“…The goal of the heat treatment is to obtain tetragonal phase BaTiO 3 because it has a higher dielectric constant than cubic phase BaTiO 3 , and the grain size has a major influence on the crystal structure [15,17,18]. The grain size of the BaTiO 3 fibers is affected by the heating rate.…”
