Die Winkelabh�ngigkeit der Resonanzstreuung niederenergetischer Elektronen an He, Ne, Ar und N2

Abstract

The energy dependence of the elastic resonance scattering of low energy electrons from He, Ne, Ar, and N 2 has been measured in the angular range from 8 ~ to 110% From the measurements are derived the total angular momenta and hence the configurations of the quasistafionary negative ion states. The line shapes depend very strongly on the phase shifts for the potential scattering and on the interference of different partial waves. In the cases of He and Ne phase shifts are determined. The resonance structure in the elastic scattering from N 2 in the energy range from 1.75 eV to about 3,5 eV seems to be due to the formation of the N~--ion in its electronic ground state with a 2H configuration. The separations of its first few vibrational states are 237_ 10 meV, the natural half-width of these states being approximately 150 meV.Die Verwendung monoenergetischer Elektronen in Streuexperimenten an einigen Atomen und zweiatomigen Molekfilen hat in den letzten Jahren zur Entdeckung yon Resonanzen im totalen und differentiellen Wirkungsquerschnitt geftihrt, die durch die kurzzeitige Bildung hochangeregter negativer Ionen und deren anschlieBende Autoionisation erkl~irt werden. Die Erscheinung ist der lange bekannten Resonanzstreuung yon Neutronen an Atomkernen analog. In beiden Fallen wird die Irregulari-t~it im Wirkungsquerschnitt erzeugt durch Wechselwirkung eines quasidiskreten Zustandes des Compound-Systems im Kontinuum mit geeigneten Zust~inden des Kontinuums I-3Bisher wurden Experimente sowohl in der elastischen 4-8 als auch unelastischen 9-11 Elektronenstreuung an den Edelgasen, Hg-und H-Atomen, H2, N2 und CO unter einem festen Streuwinkel durchgefiihrt. Dabei konnte stets die energetische Lage der gefundenen Resonanzzusffmde sehr genau und in einigen Fallen ihre Konfiguration ermittelt werden.
