Die Vorhersagefaktoren einer erfolgreichen selektiven Lasertrabekuloplastik bei Offenwinkelglaukom

Abstract: SLT success in OAG with a mean follow-up time of 43.4 months was significantly predicted by the lower grade of trabecular meshwork pigmentation and the absence of diabetes mellitus.

“…The present study aims to answer the question of factors that can predict success of SLT over a longer period of time (4 years). Predictive factors have been reported by Gracner et al6 showing a negative correlation between successful SLT and the grade of trabecular meshwork pigmentation and diabetes. The authors did not find any significant correlations between successful SLT and baseline IOP, age, sex, hypertension, family history of glaucoma, previous anterior segment surgery, laser energy used and local antiglaucoma therapy.…”

“…Comparisons among studies are always difficult to perform due to different populations studied, different time periods, how failure was defined, etc. The fact that Gracner et al6 did not find a significant correlation between baseline IOP and success might be due to different levels of IOP in the patients included. In our study the mean level of baseline IOP was 24.7 mmHg meanwhile Gracner et al6 included patients with IOP 22.5 mmHg.…”

“…Johnson et al showed that the 2-week visit post-SLT predicted the 4-week and 3-month visits in the same eye if the 2-week visit demonstrated a decrease in IOP 20. Different studies showed the predictive value of the baseline IOP as a predictor of success following SLT 2122. It was shown that SLT not only lowers the IOP in the treated eye, but also has a short-term IOP-lowering effect in the untreated eye 23…”

They did not find any significant correlations between successful SLT and baseline IOP, age, gender, hypertension, family history of glaucoma, previous anterior segment surgery, laser energy used or local antiglaucoma therapy.…”
