Abstract:Suspected extraluminal recurrence of rectal carcinoma after surgical treatment represents a frequent diagnostic challenge. Clinical history and examination as well as tomographic imaging often do not equivocally settle this tissue. Glucose-PET is an expensive, not universally available test.
