Die Struktur des Harpagosids. 2. Mitteilung über Iridoide

Abstract: Aus den getrockneten N'urzeln der sudafrikanischen Teufelskralle Har$ago$hytz4rn $rocurnbens DC (Pedaliaceae) [Z] isolierten TUNMANN 8r LUX einen amorphen glykosi dischen Bitterstoff, den sie Harpagosid nannten [3] [4]. Das Glykosid entfarbt Bromund KMnO,-Liisung, wird durch Sauren zu D-Glucose und dunkel gefarbten Zersetzungsprodukten hydrolysiert und zeigt damit ein ahnliches Verhalten wie Aucubin [5] und Asperulosid [6].
