Die Puppen der Mitteleuropäischen Bucculatricidae (Lepidoptera: Tineoidea)

Abstract: The Pupae of Bucculatricidae from Central Europe (Lepidoptera: Tineoidea)The pupae of Central European Bucculatricidae (Lepidoptera, Tineoidea, genus Bucculatrix with 21 species), are characterized, described and figured. A key for the determination of the species as well as qome data on the biology and habitats are added. The present system of this group is discussed on the basis of pupal characters.

“…and carinae. In general, the pupal morphology of E. synethes fits the pattern described by Patočka (1999) for the freyerella species group, especially regarding that of Elachista freyerella (Hübner, 1825). However, the pupae of these two species can be separated by some morphological features, especially those of the terminalia; for instance, hook-like setae are restricted to the A10 in E. freyerella, but are present not only on this abdominal segment but also on A9 in E. synethes; furthermore, the posterior projection of A10 is little developed in E. freyerella, but reaches to about midlength of the segment and has a distinctive cone-like appearance in E. synethes.…”
