In some cases the subsequently determined Laacher See Tephra appeared to have been placed in other palynostratigraphical positions, such as the Younger Dryas (Straka 1954(Straka ,1955(Straka ,1956(Straka ,1961 or Preboreal (Juvignt: & Bastin 1982;Gullentops, in Woillard 1975). According to the interpretation of the original pollen diagram of Niechorze I1 (Brykczynska 1978) the Laacher See Tephra should have been deposited during the Older Dryas, but this must be reinterpreted to the Allerad, taking into account the restudy of the profile Niechorze I-bis with the Allerad layer at the very bottom.…”
