Die mikroökologische Wirkung der Frauenmilch

Abstract: With mother's milk, in the colon a buffer system round pH 5 is dominating which consists of short chain organic acids and the corresponding anions. Thus, the activity of the microbial metabolism is retarded. The degradation of lactose remains maintained down to the faeces. With cow's milk, a neutral buffer system on the basis of phosphate, bicarbonate, and protein degradation products causes a rapid lactose degradation already in the upper colon. Putrefactive metabolites thereby released and absorbed burden th… Show more

“…2) assessed by the passage of a carmine red dye marker, rendered shorter passage time in breast fed infants during the first 6 weeks of life. Grtitte et al [5] ascribed a longer colonic passage by formula-feeding to the low osmotic activity due to prior metabolisation of lactose, while a part of the lactose of human milk reached the distal part of part of the intestine without being split and absorbed on the way. This was on the one hand explained by a neutral buffer system in the colon based on phosphate, bicarbonate and protein degradation products in formula-feeding causing a rapid lactose degradation in the upper colon.…”

“…This was on the one hand explained by a neutral buffer system in the colon based on phosphate, bicarbonate and protein degradation products in formula-feeding causing a rapid lactose degradation in the upper colon. On the other hand, with human milk, a dominating buffer system of approximately pH 5 in the colon resulted in a retarded activity of microbial metabolism [5].…”

“…In infants, the intestinal P absorption rate may well be above 90% [41]. In breast-fed infants the low P intake and the high intestinal absorption rate favor a low intestinal P concentration, as an essential condition for an acid pH of the feces inhibiting the growth of potentially pathogenic germs [102]. In infants fed formulas, a high Ca and P intake together with a low ratio of Ca to P may result in high serum P levels (a risk factor for, e. g., hypocalcemic tetany) and in a high urinary P excretion with high renal NAE.…”

“…Frauenmilch war in unserer Studie [21,22] [13]. Die immer wieder beobachtete, gute Verträglichkeit von Frauenmilch scheint den Wert von Laktose in Nahrungen für Frühgeborene zu unterstreichen.Andererseits war in einer randomisierten Studie Laktose im Vergleich zu Maltodextrin gehäuft mit Symptomen einer Nahrungsunverträglichkeit assoziiert [10].…”
