Show more

“…Catalytic methods can realize such reactions. Prominent reactions in this regard are metal-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions of organo (pseudo) halides and various metal organyls 1. The great success of these reactions led to a Nobel Prize for Akira Suzuki, Richard Heck, and Ei-ichi Negishi in 2010.…”

“…Herein we report that (i) a highly efficient synthesis of a C32–C37 fragment ( 7 ) of ≥98% isomeric purity was achieved from ethyl ( S )-3-hydroxybutyrate by application of Brown crotylboration [9] and Fráter-Seebach alkylation, [10] (ii) highly selective and efficient syntheses of C21–C32 oligoene fragment of amphotericin B through appropriate uses of Horner-Wadsworth-Emmons reaction [11] (HWE reaction hereafter), alkyne hydrozirconation, [12] Pd-catalyzed Negishi coupling, [13] and Heck reaction [14] were discussed, (iii) the C21–C37 fragment ( 2 ) of amphotericin B was constructed in a highly concise and efficient strategy, which exemplify the high competence of delicate design of organic synthesis toward optimized synthesis of complex natural products.…”
