“…The great sensitivity of the neuronal oa-adrenoceptors to adrenaline, noradrenaline and ephedrine gives further evidence of the possible significance of prejunctional adrenoceptors under physiological conditions. In these experiments there was, contrary to the results of McDougal & West (1952), Hartfelder, Kushinsky & Mosler (1958 and Kosterlitz et al (1970), no pronounced difference between the action of cumulatively applied adrenaline and noradrenaline. The EC50 values of adrenaline were only slightly higher than those of noradrenaline, while ephedrine had a 90 to 100 times lower potency than noradrenaline and adrenaline.…”
