“…13c). This inversion is supported by (i) observations by, e.g., Kockel and Richter (1924) and Tollmann (1969) of the Tannheim thrust sheet directly south of FSZ (within this study termed CRS marginal slice, see Fig. 2) dipping below the FSZ, (ii) observations within the Schäfflerseck slice, which got backthrusted onto sediments of the Tannheim-and Losenstein Fms.…”

“…The Allgäu, Lechtal, and Inntal thrusts are the thrusts at the base of the respective thrust sheets basement (e.g., Oberhauser 1995;Faupl and Wagreich 2000;Handy et al 2010) and subduction of the Piemont-Liguria ocean had begun, the NCA travelled across the tectonically deeper Penninic units (Frisch 1979;Winkler 1988;von Eynatten and Gaupp 1999). The major thrusts were folded (the "Deckenfaltung" = refolding of nappes of Kockel 1926), which is recorded in the growth strata of the thrust-sheet-top deposits (Branderfleck Formation and Gosau Group;Ortner 2001Ortner , 2007Ortner and Gaupp 2007;Sommer et al 2010;Sieberer 2020;Fig. 4b).…”
