Dichloroacetylaroylmethanes as two-carbon synthons in the Biginelli reaction

Abstract: Acid-catalyzed cyclocondensation in a three component system of dichloromethylacetylbenzoylmethanes, urea, and aromatic aldehydes occurred regio-and stereoselectively to give polyfunctional derivatives of perhydropyrimidine.
