Dichloridobis[3-(4-methoxyphenyl)-2-methyl-5-(piperidin-1-yl)-2,3-dihydro-1,2,4-oxadiazole-κN4]platinum(II)

Abstract: In title compound, [PtCl2(C15H21N3O2)2], the PtII cation, located on an inversion center, is coordinated by two Cl− anions and two 3-(4-methoxyphenyl)-2-methyl-5-(piperidin-1-yl)-2,3-dihydro-1,2,4-oxadiazole ligands in a distorted Cl2N2 square-planar geometry. The dihydrooxadiazole and piperidine rings display envelope (with the non-coordinating N atom as the flap atom) and chair conformations, respectively. In the crystal, weak C—H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds link the molecules into supramolecular chains runn… Show more

“…62 The X-ray data for these four species represent the second example of structurally characterized metal-free DHODs and the first example of crystallographically characterized 5-aminosubstituted DHOD. Only one work reported metal-free structures of DHODs, 61 whereas more examples of structurally characterized metal-bound DHODs were previously reported and these structures include DHOD complexes of Pd II , 16 Pt II , 14,15,[19][20][21][26][27][28][63][64][65] Pt IV , 19,21 and closo-decaborate clusters bearing the DHOD moiety. 46,66 Zn II -Catalyzed and O 2 -involving transformations of DHODs…”

“…These metal-involving methods were applied for generation of DHODs, and it appeared that some metals act as efficient activators of RCN dipolarophiles in the CA (D) .
