Diamond nanocrystals with nitrogen-vacancy centers as new type temperature sensors

Abstract: Nitrogen vacancy color centers in diamond (NVs) as a new type of temperature sensors were presented in the article. Recent progress in the field of NV thermometry and summarize the techniques of NVs manufacturing was briefly discussed. The use of NVs for characterization of thermoelectric materials was proposed. KEYWORDS: nitrogen-vacancy, NV, thermometry, thermoelectrics, nanodiamondsW artykule zaprezentowano centra barwne azot-wakancja (NV) w diamentach w roli czujnika temperatury nowego typu. “…Nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in diamond have been explored in recent years for sensing applications (magnetic field, electric field, and temperature) [1][2][3][4][5][6][7], quantum information processing [8,9], and as a source of hyperpolarization of 13 C, 14 N nuclei [10][11][12], nitrogen donor spins [13] in diamond and also to the nuclei outside the diamond [14].…”

“…‡ O centro de nitrogênio-vacância consiste em um átomo de nitrogênio substitucional ao lado de uma vacância na rede cristalina do diamante. Quando excitada opticamente por um laser verde, a amostra fluoresce na região do vermelho (44,45), tornando possível sua detecção. § As UCNPs são observadas através da fluorescência, como os nanodiamantes com centros de nitrogênio-vacância.…”
