A Novel and simple hydrothermal route was proposed to synthesis the short length ZnO hexagonal nanorods. In this method precursor ZnS nanoparticles, synthesis from precipitation reaction of Zinc Acetate and Thiourea and pH has been varied with ammonia(NH3) The ZnS nanoparticles has been annealed at low temperature for the fabrication of short length ZnO hexagonal nanorods. The ZnS to ZnO transformation was confirmed by XRD. The air annealing of the ZnS precipitate is about 60 "C to 6S"C for at least 24 hours to eonvert them to ZnO nanoparticles. The structural characteristics, Morphology, optical properties and chemical composition of the as prepared ZnO nanoparticles were investigated by XRD (X-ray Diffraction), Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectrometry (EDAX), SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope), Ultra-violet (UV) emission and Photoluminescence (PL) were studied.
