Abstract:Chromosome doubling is an important step in the production of maize doubled haploid (DH) lines to induce fertility in the male and female reproductive organs of haploid plants. Chromosomal doubling is routinely accomplished by treating haploid seedlings with mitosis-inhibiting chemicals.
