Diagnostically Cognitive Assessment of Complex Semantic Explanations and Learning: A Bayesian Network Approach

Abstract: This study explored a diagnostically cognitive assessment model for the ANOVA score model emphasizing semantic explanations. The study used the mixed methods designs, in which the ANOVA score model was decomposed into measurable components. This consists of the proficiency student model. Such kinds of data were transferred to a quantitative representation via the Bayesian network model of the ANOVA score model and semantic explanation assessment. This diagnostically cognitive assessment consists of 28 variable… Show more

“…This design assigns equal significance to both methods, allowing for the independent analysis of each component. The ultimate aim is to integrate and interpret the results in a combined manner, providing a comprehensive understanding of the research topic (Creswell & Pablo-Clark, 2011;Zhang, & Ibarra, 2023;Zhang, 2022aZhang, , 2022b.…”

“…BayesiaLab (Conrady & Jouffe, 2015) was utilized to develop the thematic network, integrating Segev's open coding structure and the analysts' comprehensive understanding of the relationships between central words and potential themes. This facilitated a more nuanced exploration of the connections within the data (Zhang, 2022b). Through the use of these analytical techniques and software tools, this study conducted a thorough analysis encompassing both quantitative and qualitative aspects.…”

“…This study employed a mixed qualitative research approach that seamlessly combined exploratory case studies and semantic analysis methods (Alazwari, 2022;Otte, 2006;Rossman & Marshall, 2016;Zhang, 2022a;Zhang, 2022b;Zhang & Ramos, 2023). By integrating these two methodological approaches, the researchers aimed to achieve a comprehensive and multifaceted understanding of the research topic.…”

“…There are diverse mixed methods models, which may be applied to the alternative assessment (Zhang, 2007b;Zhang, & Zhang, 2020). Creswell and Plano Clark (2018) introduced six mixed methods designs, which were applied to the research designs and data collections of the cognitively diagnostic assessment (Zhang, 2007a(Zhang, , 2007b: a) convergent parallel design, b) explanatory sequential design, c) exploratory sequential design, d) embedded design, e) transformative design, and f) multiphase design. Among these mixed methods designs, the exploratory sequential design is the best candidate to apply to the cognitively diagnostic assessment.…”
