Diagnostic values of glycated haemoglobin and diagnosis of diabetes: Results of a cross-sectional survey among general practitioners in the province of Reggio Emilia, Italy

Abstract: HighlightsThe multilevel analysis showed a strong GP clustering effect.The age was related to the likelihood to be diagnosed as ‘having diabetes’.Need to enhance dissemination on the use of HbA1c test as diagnostic tool.The exchange between GPs and the register could improve the diagnosis timeliness.
