Abstract. The article describes research results of thermal properties of mineral oil and natural ester. Percentage proportions of both the liquids were as follows: 100/0, 95/5, 80/20, 50/50, 20/80, 0/100. The authors present measurement results of thermal conductivity, viscosity, specific heat, density, and thermal expansion of the created mixtures. The measurements were taken in a relatively wide temperature range: 25 ºC, 40 ºC, 60 ºC, and 80 ºC. On the basis of the measurement results, convection heat transfer coefficient α was calculated and the most advantageous proportion of both the components of the mixture was pointed in terms of cooling effectiveness of the transformer.

Dissolved gas-in-oil analysis (DGA) is a powerful method to diagnose and detect transformer faults. It is of profound significance for the accurate and rapid determination of the fault of the transformer and the stability of the power. In different transformer faults, the concentration of dissolved gases in oil is also inconsistent. Commonly used gases include hydrogen (H2), methane (CH4), acetylene (C2H2), ethane (C2H6), and ethylene (C2H4). This paper first combines BP neural network with improved Adaboost algorithm, then combines PNN neural network to form a series diagnosis model for transformer fault, and finally combines dissolved gas-in-oil analysis to diagnose transformer fault. The experimental results show that the accuracy of the series diagnosis model proposed in this paper is greatly improved compared with BP neural network, GA-BP neural network, PNN neural network, and BP-Adaboost.

Abstract. In the paper results of simultaneously conducted measurements achieved using capacitive and inductive sensors are presented according to different PD model sources immersed in a mineral transformer insulation oil. All measurements are preceded under laboratory conditions using typical measurement set up commonly applied for on-site PD detection: measuring impedance and capacitor and high frequency current transformer (HFCT) are used respectively. Measuring frequency and voltage level influence as well as phase resolved PD patterns analysis are investigated in the research. Various fundamental PD signal descriptors assigned for selected frequencies are also proposed and compared for chosen sensors. The main purpose of the presented research is to compare PD measurement results achieved using selected type of sensors during laboratory measurements and to point the best application areas in fields of PD detection in high voltage apparatus under normal operating conditions. Furthermore a proper measurement results interpretation coming from different sensors as well as measurement conducting problems and achieved patterns disparities are also discussed in the paper.
