Retinal vascular occlusions are typically associated with well-defined, classical risk factors in older people. In younger, otherwise healthy patients, further autoimmune hypercoagulable disorders are often causal. Our case suggests the contribution of slightly elevated antiphospholipid IgM antibodies, although this remains to be proven.
