Abstract:Avascular necrosis of the femoral head is a common cause of musculoskeletal disability, and it presents a significant diagnostic and therapeutic challenge. Although patients are initially asymptomatic, avascular necrosis frequently leads to joint destruction, typically before the age of 50.
