Diagnostic accuracy of serum pepsinogens for atrophic gastritis in Myanmar

Abstract: Background Chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG) is a precancerous lesion of gastric cancer. This study investigated the diagnostic accuracy of serum pepsinogens in Myanmar to diagnose CAG as non‐invasive makers. Methods A cross‐sectional study of 70 dyspeptic patients without red flag signs was recruited and performed endoscopy with mucosal biopsies. Histologic severity was assessed by Operative Link for Gastritis Assessment (OLGA) staging. Serum pepsinogens (PG I and PG II) were measured by ELISA Gastro Panel, Bi… Show more

“…4 Studies on non-invasive diagnosis of atrophic gastritis could lead to better detection of precancerous conditions and looking at the relationship between chronic dyspeptic symptoms and underlying precancerous gastric conditions are important studies to undertake. [5][6][7] Hepatology papers include one on mortality reporting from India. 8 At the end of this year will mark a transition to a new submission portal as part of a partnership between Wiley and Hindawi and GastroHep will move to a fully open access model.…”
