“…In recent years, there has been more research on the pore structure characteristics, diagenesis, and storage control mechanism of tight sandstone reservoirs. The identification of effective seepage channels in tight reservoirs and their genesis mechanisms has been less studied. Micro- and nanometer computed tomography (CT) scanning technology, scanning electron microscopy, and other testing methods gradually play an important role in the fine characterization of the micropore structure of tight reservoirs. It has become a development trend to combine multiple technical means to identify effective seepage channels and formation mechanisms in reservoirs. Therefore, the tight reservoir of the Fuyu oil layer in the Songliao Basin is taken as an example.…”

“…With the rise of unconventional hydrocarbon production techniques, tight sandstone reservoirs have gradually become a target for exploration and development particularly in mature hydrocarbon provinces or basins with less conventionally producible resources. Tight oil and gas resources are found in many basins in China such as the Ordos, Songliao, and Bohai basins, with good exploration results recently. Compared with traditional reservoirs, tight sandstone reservoirs are characterized by lower porosity and exceptionally low permeability, which is less than 1 mD . Their pore structure is often highly complex and affected by diagenetic overprint (e.g., cementation), which poses great challenges to reservoir development. , Therefore, it is of great significance to accurately delineate diagenetic facies types in tight sandstone reservoirs emphasizing the influence on chemical diagenesis on reservoir quality. , …”
