Diabetic papillopathy with macular edema treated with intravitreal bevacizumab

Abstract: A 46-year-old diabetic male presented with acute painless visual loss in his left eye (OS). Visual acuity was 6/36 OS with an unremarkable anterior segment examination (OU). Posterior segment showed a swollen left optic disc with large diffuse macular edema and moderate nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy (NPDR). The right eye fundus showed only mild NPDR. Optical coherence tomography and fundus fluorescein angiography were performed which revealed left macular edema and a hyperfluorescent left optic disc. C… Show more

“…Son zamanlarda tek doz intravitreal anti-VEGF'in disk kabarıklığı-nın azalmasında etkili olduğu gösterilmiştir (7)(8)(9)(10) . Tedaviye iyi yanıt alınması, VEGF'in DP'nin patogenezinde rol oynadığını gösterebilir.…”

“…Tedaviye iyi yanıt alınması, VEGF'in DP'nin patogenezinde rol oynadığını gösterebilir. DP'nin doğal seyrinde optik diskteki spontan rezolüsyonun uzun sürmesinden dolayı görsel düzelmenin tam olmadığı, ancak tek doz intravitreal anti-VEGF uygulaması ile optik diskteki ödemin kısa süredeki rezolusyonu ile görsel düzelmenin daha iyi olduğunu gösteren yayınlar mevcuttur (7)(8)(9)(10) . Olgumuzda DP ile birlikte KMÖ bulunduğundan dolayı tek doz yerine ardışık 3 doz intravitreal anti-VEGF planlandı.…”
