“…Since the patient was not under medical care before becoming hypertensive, it is impossible to rule out the presence of abnormal glucose tolerance during that period. Macrae et al [8] have recently reported on 3 patients and reviewed on other 23 previously published cases of diabetic nephropathy without hyper glycemia. Among the 26 patients, they distinguished 5 whose 2-hour blood glucose on oral GTT was under 140 mg/dl (7.8 mmol/1) and whom they considered to be true examples of diabetic nephropathy in the absence of hyperglycemia.…”
