“…From the year 2007, there was a change in the evaluation of donor candidates, which led to a more careful donation, the use of laboratory techniques to demonstrate the corneal quality, and possible disposal of donor corneas with a previous history of eye surgery. This result matches that of a study conducted at the eye bank of Hospital Sao Paulo (6) . However, the two studies cannot be correlated in a transverse way, since the population reality is different in the two states (3) .…”
