Dexmedetomidine for Preventing Sleep Disturbance after Ambulatory Anesthesia: A Case Report

Abstract:Propofol anesthesia may impact a patient’s sleep quality in the immediate postprocedure timeframe. We describe a 24-year-old man presenting for gastrostomy-jejunostomy tube replacement who reported debilitating sleep-onset disturbances after 3 previous anesthetic exposures for the same procedure.
