Devosia salina sp. nov., isolated from South China Sea sediment

Abstract: An aerobic, Gram-stain-negative, rod-shaped and motile strain, designated SCS-3T, was isolated from deep-sea sediment of the South China Sea. Phylogenetic analysis based on the 16S rRNA gene sequence similarities revealed that strain SCS-3T represented a novel species of the genus Devosia , with closely related strains ' Devosia sediminis '… Show more

“…The respiratory isoprenoid quinones detected in strains G2-5 T and G20-9 T were identified as Q-10, which aligns with the predominant respiratory quinone observed in other species of the genus Devosia [4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12]. Regarding major fatty acids (those constituting >10 % of the total fatty acids), both strains exhibited summed feature 8 (comprising C 18 : 1 ω7c and/or C 18 : 1 ω6c), 11-methyl-C 18 : 1 ω7c and C 18 : 0 .…”
