Abstract:This paper reveals the cult of Saint Veronica in the Cathedral of Seville. It was developed around a copy of the Santa Face of Jaén which was donated in 1629 and which aroused great fervour among the faithful, both in its original location in the main sacristy and in the chapel of Nuestra Señora de la Antigua, where it was placed in 1690 in a silver reliquary, to be replaced in 1739 by the tabernacle that still guards it today.
