“…Me´thodes: Les propriétés barrières des pellicules du cyanoacrylate ont été testées par les deux méthodes suivantes : (1) pellicule pré-polymérisée et (2) pellicule polymérisée in situ. La surface extérieure de la pellicule a été inoculée de façon à ce que les microorganismes doivent pénétrer á travers la pellicule pour coloniser la plaie.…”

“…2 In order to isolate the effects of 2-octyl cyanoacrylate formulation polymerization on the agar media, two methods of film production were used. One set of films was prepolymerized in a polypropylene mold and another set was prepared by in situ polymerization on the surface of an agar growth medium.…”

“…Alkyl 2-cyanoacrylates or cyanoacrylates (CAs) are a family of vinyl monomers renowned for their high reactivity, instant adhesive properties, and wide-ranging applications [1,2,3,4,5,6]. Short chain CAs, like methyl- and ethyl 2-cyanoacrylate have found great utility as the major components of industrial and household instant adhesives or “super glues”, including those manufactured at Henkel under the Loctite brand (Table 1) [4,5,6].…”

“…The use of cyanoacrylates has increased significantly in recent years owing to their unique combination of chemical and physical properties, namely: (1) they cure rapidly at room temperature; (2) they form strong bonds with a wide variety of different materials without the addition of a catalyst; (3) they can be easily and safely applied either manually or by automatic equipment; and (4) they are ready to use without mixing or using a primer [2]. These unique materials were discovered in 1951 in the course of applied research directed towards the characterization of stronger, tougher and more heat-resistant acrylate polymers for jet plane canopies [3].…”
