Development of Web Applications from Web Enhanced Conceptual Schemas

Abstract: Abstract. This work presents an OO software production method that defines a systematic process for conceptual modelling of web applications. The paper discusses a set of minimum primitives to capture the essentials of dynamic web applications and it discusses how to introduce them in a classical model-centered OO method that provides systematic code generation. Finally, the paper presents some ideas to extend this generation process for developing web solutions taking as an input these web enhanced conceptual… Show more

“…The navigational aspects of a Web application are described in a navigational model. The navigational model [2] is represented by a directed graph (which defines the navigational structure) whose nodes are navigational contexts and its arcs denote navigational links. A navigational context (represented by an UML package stereotyped with the «context» keyword) defines a view on the class diagram that allows us to specify an information recovery.…”

“…In WSDM [16], the process design is driven by the user requirements and is based on the ConcurTaskTrees notation. An alternative approach is proposed by Torres and Pelechano [15], where BPM and OOWS [5] combines to model process-centric applications; model-to-model transformations are used to generate the Navigational Model from the BPM definition and model-to-text transformations can produce an executable process definition in WS-BPEL. “…In the design phase, different kinds of models are used (cf. [Fons et al 2003]) (W.Ph): On the content level, the information is captured using the structural model, i.e., a UML-like class diagram, just like in OO-Method. In addition, UML state and sequence diagrams can be used to describe behavioral aspects and represent the dynamic model in OOWS (W.L).…”
