Development of the Portable Synchrotron MIRRORCLE-CV for High Precision Non-Destructive Testing

Abstract: Development of low energy and high brilliance x-ray source using a portable synchrotron MIRRORCLE AIP Conf.Abstract. We started the development of the portable synchrotron MIRRORCLE-CV series, which provides a high quality x-ray beam for high precision non-destructive testing (NDT). Computer simulations for the magnetic field design and electron dynamics reveal that the outer diameter of the synchrotron magnet can be as small as 30 cm. This synchrotron size approaches that of a conventional x-ray tube.

“…with B 0 = B z (r = 0, z = 0), r the radial position and ρ 0 the radius of the nominal trajectory, also called reference orbit. E.g., the index value for the MIRRORCLE systems is n = 0.72 [4,5,6,7,8,9]. This value gives the horizontal tune Q x = √ 1 − n = 0.529 and the vertical tune Q z = √ n = 0.848 of the storage ring.…”
