As a result of Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), it was found that the scale has three factors with 20 items and explains 58.278% of the total variance. Cronbach Alpha values aimed at determining reliability of the scale was found as 0.92 for the first factor, 0.86 for second factor, 0.70 … Show more

“…It was found to be reliable at α = .84 and CFA results showed that the single-factor model had acceptable goodness of fit indices: χ 2 = 48.77, df = 17, χ 2 /df = 2.87, p = .000, RMSEA = .07, SRMR = .04, GFI = .97, NFI = .96, IFI = .97, TLI = .95, and CFI = .97. The Teachers' Professional Engagement Scale -was developed by Kozikoglu and Senemoglu (2018). It has 10 items and three subdimensions (commitment to the profession, devotion to the profession, and dedication to the students) and is scored on a five-point Likert-type (1 = Definitely agree, 5 = Definitely disagree).…”

“…Teacher engagement is an indication of the efforts put in by teachers for teaching and their levels of attention toward activities related to the profession (Han et al, 2016; Shuck et al, 2013). In the present study, professional engagement of teachers is defined as the endeavor of teachers to do everything they can for both, their own development, and that of their students, and to perform the teaching profession with pleasure (Kozikoğlu & Senemoğlu, 2018). Professional engagement is thus explained using the following dimensions: “commitment to the profession” (continuing the teaching profession with pleasure and pride), “dedication to the students” (making an effort to help students with whatever they need), and “devotion to the profession” (striving for professional development and success) (Kozikoğlu & Senemoğlu, 2018; p. 2624).…”

“…Teachers who use modern methods for effective learning and are devoted to their profession are needed (Hoy & Miskel, 2010;Shukla, 2014), whereas teachers who are not happy with their jobs are unfit for high performance (Kumari & Gera, 2018). Additionally, professionally engaged teachers are willing to exert extra effort to increase student success and continue their profession (Butucha, 2013;Kumari & Gera, 2018;Malechwanzi & Hongde, 2018), while teachers with a low level of professional engagement are not interested in their profession enough and do not strive to improve themselves (Kozikoglu & Senemoglu, 2018).…”
